Ancient Resilience and Modern Miscalculation: The Collapse of U.S. Credibility

The decision by the United States administration under President Trump to initiate armed aggression against Iran, a nation with a seven-thousand-year-old civilization, has exposed and highlighted fundamental weaknesses in American governance and strategic foresight.

Over the past thirty-five days since the unlawful joint U.S.-Israeli attack on Iran, the U.S. President has failed to build an international coalition or garner support from the global community against Iran. Domestic and international public opinion, including that of traditional allies, remains unconvinced of the justifications provided for this war.

The frequent shifts in U.S. positions aimed at engineering global public opinion to justify this unlawful aggression have been ineffective, and many view President Trump as lacking credibility. He is losing the battle of narratives, as evidenced by the growing distrust within global markets, stock exchanges, economic institutions. This period has laid bare a profound lack of strategic depth and risk management within the current U.S. decision-making apparatus.

President Trump’s record in resolving international disputes has been poor, relying solely on force and reckless adventurism. Consequently, the U.S. government under his leadership now faces strategic isolation, and America’s credibility as the world’s largest military power and economy has been severely damaged.

The illegal attack on Iran has triggered strategic shifts in the Middle East. People and governments across the region are questioning U.S. commitments and re-evaluating the nature of its continued presence, increasingly viewing it as a source of instability rather than security.

Millions worldwide, including within the United States and in Occupied Territories, have taken to the streets in anti-war demonstrations in recent days. These rallies demonstrate that the Trump administration policy lack legitimacy not only under international law and the UN Charter but also in the eyes of global public opinion.

The regional geopolitical transformation has begun, and Iran stands as the central pillar of this new order.
